In the mid-1990s chef and caterer Elizabeth Mulrine delivered left over food to our shelter residents.
Inspired by the gratitude from the women, Elizabeth was moved to do something for Third Street Alliance that day, she felt inspired to support Third Street Alliance.
Her idea of The Bistro has become the keystone fundraiser for Third Street Alliance.
Through the work of the Bistro Committee, the mansion comes to life for an event that honors the beauty of the mansion, while sharing our mission: to provide a safe and healthy space for women, children, and family to live, learn, and thrive.
Each day we are able to help a woman or family become better providers for their families; we teach young minds and open their eyes to new experiences; we give caretakers the peace of mind that their aging loved one is being cared for during the day.
We couldn’t do this without the support of others.
Last year, we honored Elizabeth by creating a scholarship in her name, which helps low income and homeless families to access our child and adult day care programs. Through the Fund-A-Need live auction during the Bistro, we were able to raise more than $7,500 for that scholarship.
Please join us at the 21st Bistro, March 4, from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. at Third Street Alliance.
Guests are encouraged to wear something silk in honor of the Simon Silk Mills.
