Easton Fire Department surprises our Learning Center Program

Our Learning Center children were surprised during Fire Prevention Month when the Easton Fire Department showed up during program time to teach the kids about fire safety.

The kids donned their very own fireman hats, and discovered how different parts of the fire truck work—the hose, the ladder, and the horn. They were very excited to explore the truck, which parked right outside Third Street Alliance, and meet the real-life heroes from the Easton Fire Department.

The children learned important lessons in fire safety and preparedness, like having a family plan for what to do if a fire breaks out in your home and making sure preventive tools like extinguishers and alarms are working. The firemen and women showed the kids how to crawl under smoke to avoid breathing it in and how to test a doorknob to tell if a fire is behind the door, making it unsafe to open.

Thank you, Easton Fire Department, and all of the firefighters who came to share their life-saving knowledge with the kids at our Learning Center!
