Homeless Services Sees Changes in New Year

The New Year will welcome staff changes to the Homeless Services program at Third Street Alliance.

Please join us in wishing Janice Thomas, Director of Homeless Services, a fond farewell. Janice joined Third Street Alliance in July 2015 and has been instrumental in building our program from a residential shelter into a full-scale homeless services department. Earlier this year her husband accepted a new position with his company and they will be relocating to Nevada.

Janice has led her team in achieving significant milestones in addressing homelessness in Easton and the Lehigh Valley. She has been a valuable and well-respected member of the agency and the community.

We will miss Janice’s professionalism, empathy, strength, and sense of humor. She built a professional and passionate team in the Homeless Services program, and they are ready to continue the work.

Homeless Services Sees Changes in New Year 1

Dr. Cattima Millsap

We are pleased to announce that Dr. Cattima Millsap accepted the position of Director of Homeless Services. Cattima joined our team earlier this summer as we launched our eviction prevention work. She has been instrumental in ensuring hundreds of households in Northampton County remain stable and housed through the COVID-19 pandemic.

Ziana Keith, our tenant navigator, has been working with Cattima since the summer and will continue the critical work of the eviction prevention program.

Additionally, Zenayda Alicea has accepted the position of Program Manager for Diversion and Shelter. In this role, Zenayda will focus on diverting families out of homelessness and accelerating exits from the shelter into stable housing – a housing first philosophy. Previously, Zenayda served as the Lehigh Valley’s regional manager for the Coordinated Entry System.

Melissa Campos will continue in her role as shelter operations manager. Amatullah Muhammad, Brianna Kimmel, and Meccah Robertson will continue to deliver shelter support services.

Third Street Alliance is enhancing our Rapid Re-Housing Program by adding a full-time case manager focused on ensuring families placed in housing remain stably housed. January Sleiman, previous case management for shelter, will be stepping into the new role. Ellen Caban, our housing locator will continue to connect prospective landlords and tenants in our program.

As we transition into 2021, Third Street Alliance is well-positioned to meet the growing critical needs of those women and families who are at-risk in our community.
