Third Street Alliance for Women & Children’s Board of Directors welcomes Julie LaBella, Senior Director of Regulatory and External Affairs for Talen Energy.
LaBella’s position on the board was approved during the Nov. 16, 2020 meeting for service to begin on Jan. 1. She has been a member of the agency’s Finance Committee since January 2020.
“I’ve long believed in the work done by Third Street Alliance to provide support to women in need while also empowering them to improve their futures,” LaBella said. “More recently my personal experience with The Learning Center allowed me to see first-hand the positive impact the teachers have on the children in their classrooms and the difference that can make on a child.”
“I was honored to be provided an opportunity to become more involved in the organization and to be a part of such a vital community organization,” she said.
At Talen Energy, LaBella is responsible for overseeing the company’s external messaging, leading the advocacy efforts related to state-level policy, and providing regulatory support for Talen’s retail business. She has more than 20 years of experience in the energy industry in areas including commodity risk management, compliance, and financial analysis. Beginning her career at PPL Corporation, LaBella spent 15 years as a leader in corporate risk management for the company. In 2015, she transitioned to a leadership role with Talen’s regulatory and external affairs.
LaBella holds a Bachelor’s degree in Finance from Indiana University of Pennsylvania and a Master’s in Business Administration, Finance, and Accounting from St. Bonaventure University. She also serves on the Policy Committee at the United Way of the Greater Lehigh Valley.
Third Street Alliance looks forward to LaBella’s contributions as a board member.
