Educational Improvement Tax Credit (EITC) is a tax credit option for eligible businesses in Pennsylvania that make contributions to one of the following types of approved organizations:
- Educational Improvement Organizations (such as Third Street Alliance)
- Pre-Kindergarten Scholarship Organizations
- Scholarship Organizations
How EITC funding works for businesses:
Tax credits can be applied against the tax liability of a business for the same tax year that the contribution was made.
- Tax credits equal to 75 percent of the business’s contribution up to a maximum of $750,000 per taxable year.
- Tax credits can be increased to 90 percent of the contribution, if the business agrees to provide same amount for two consecutive tax years.
We Are An Educational Improvement Organization (eIO)
As an EIO, Third Street Alliance can receive contributions from businesses towards our School-Aged Programming, making the businesses eligible to receive Educational Improvement Tax Credit (EITC).
Our Programs Supported By EITC Funding
Learn & Grow
Learn & Grow, the before-and-after school program at The Learning Center, offers school-aged learning and enrichment opportunities for children up to age 13. The program runs August to June, during mornings and afternoons.
The Learn & Grow teachers provide a safe, creative atmosphere for students to experience a dynamic program that includes:
- Homework assistance provided by classroom teachers and Lafayette College students.
- Enrichment offered by community partners.
- Daily access to our S.T.E.A.M. (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Math) Lab.
In addition, transportation is provided for students attending Cheston, Paxinosa, and Wilson Borough Elementary Schools.
All children that attend are provided nutritious meals and snacks to further support learning and overall wellness.
Summer Success
Summer Success, the full-day summer program at The Learning Center, offers school-aged children a wide variety of educational enrichment activities that highlight team building, the arts, as well as physical development.
Our Summer Success program runs June through August and is packed with onsite learning experiences and field trips as students continue to focus on math, science, and literacy skills. Some trips include the Crayola Experience, local zoos, parks, Aura Ceramics, and Touchstone Theatre.
The curriculum and activities are designed to prevent the summer slide: learning loss that can occur during the summer months when children are not in school.
In between learning and fun, students are provided a nutritious breakfast, lunch, and afternoon snack.
